Meet The Doctors

Dr. Charles Adams

Charles P. Adams Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S.

Originally from Atlanta, Dr. Adams is an Honors Graduate of Emory College and received his medical degree from Emory Medical School in 1978.  After attending Georgetown University’s Ophthalmology residency in Washington D.C., he obtained corneal specialty training at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Adams was the first fellowship-trained Corneal Specialist in the area after completing his fellowship in Corneal Transplantation Surgery at the internationally recognized Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  He was also a visiting fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England.
Dr. Adams has served as the medical director of the North Florida Lions Eye Bank for corneal transplantation surgery and is a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Florida.  He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Adams received the Melvin Jones Fellow award from the Lions Club International Foundation for Dedicated Humanitarian Services.  He was also given the Spirit of Magnet Award through Baptist Health Systems in 2009.  The Spirit of Magnet award is where the nursing staff recognizes physician’s contributions to the excellent medical care they provide.
Dr. Adams has dedicated his career to restoring the vision of thousands of patients by performing numerous corneal transplant, cataract, and intraocular lens implant operations and laser vision corrections.
Dr. Brittany Ransom Agee


Dr. Brittany Ransom Agee is a board-certified ophthalmologist, specializing in comprehensive ophthalmology including the medical and surgical management of ocular disease. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, but raised in Mandeville, Louisiana – a suburb just outside New Orleans. She attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. She then attended Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans to obtain her medical degree, where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. Following medical school, Dr. Ransom Agee completed an internship in internal medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans. She then traveled to Dallas, Texas to complete her ophthalmology residency training at the University of Texas Southwestern and Parkland Health and Hospital System. Dr. Ransom Agee has been in private practice in Jacksonville since 2015.
Dr. Ransom Agee’s specialties include cataract evaluations and surgery, blepharoplasty surgery, glaucoma management and laser treatment, diabetic eye exams and treatment, as well as dry eye management. She has received advanced training in laser-assisted cataract surgery and premium intraocular lens implants, utilizing the most advanced technologies available.
Outside of the office, Dr. Ransom Agee enjoys spending time with her new husband, Dr. Shawn Agee, and their dog Teddy. She also enjoys reading fiction, dancing, and cheering on the LSU Tigers!
Dr. Ransom Agee is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the Duval County Ophthalmology Society.
